I have a question about Fanny Terry, widow (2nd wife)

I am a LEE of Charlotte Co., VA researcher.
One of them, John Lee Jr., married a Fanny/Frances Terry (briefly 1st
mar. to a WEBB) in Charlotte County:
#1- 7 Sep 1807 LAZARUS WEBB & FANNY TERRY, ward of LAZARUS WEBB. Sur:
SINGLETON FOSTER. m. 8 Sep by Richard Dabbs, Jr.
#2- John Lee married Frances Webb (widow) 12 Feb 1812, Charles H.
Pearson was surety to the bond (Note: Charles H. Pearson was a grandson
of John Lee Senior d. 1805 Charlotte Co.)
The above seem to be the same John LEE wf Fannie/Frances who moved to
Williamson Co., TN. The land straddled the line of Williamson & Marshall
counties and they appear 1850 Cen Marshall Co.
(Bible record found at link.
Could the below have been the widow of George Terry who died in
Charlotte Co., VA and mother of John Lee's wife?

I don't know if "Francis" was male or was female and could have been the
mother of Frances Terry-Lee.
I could not find Francis Terry on that area of Tenn. 1840 census.
I could not find an elderly seemingly single female on Marshall Co. 1840
in hshld of John Lea, or the Vincent Terry or neighbors close by them. I
did not check for one in a hshld of another possible family member in
Williamson Co. 1840. spearsjlg@nc.rr.com
Hi Fran,
Yes, Henry B. Terry is Henry Buck Terry (brother to the Lucy you asked
about) b- Bet. 1801 - 1802 who was married to Ursulla Allen. They were
my 3rd great-grandparents. I descend thru their daughter, Frances Ann
Terry and her 2nd husband, James Richardson Burnett. I also have a
secondary birth location for Henry Buck Terry of Peytonville, TN but I'm
not sure where that originally came from now.

Terry is not listed in the Marshall Co. 1840 Census (although a Vincent

Agricultural Census of Marshall Co. Look at microfilm of the original,

1850 Marshall Co. TN
Census: Farmer with 1000 acres March 3, 1855, an Act was passed called
'Circular B' for Bounty land for services for 2 weeks or more and

business like hand by Henry B. Terry.
He states he volunteered at Chapel Hill Tenn. (Marshall Co.) to fight
the Sabine Indians, was discharged at Jackson, Tenn. (Madison Co.) as
the President decided against this call. He finally was given 160 acres
on Dec. 22, 1857, in what was then called the Southwest Frontier

the same amount of time and had received his bounty earlier.

Does
anyone have a list of Keeble and Sarah (TERRY) Terry's children? They
lived in Bedford Co. TN, from before 1810 until Keeble died ca. 1838.
Keeble (Kebble, Kibble, etc.) was the son of Moses TERRY. His wife Sarah

Note: In the book "Jacob Marion
Lindley, his Ancestors and Descendants, A Genealogy by Milam Myrl Ewing,
June 1, 1978, the author states "Jonathan Lindley, born about 1790 in South
Carolina, died in Missouri, Will probated in Dade County, Missouri, filed
in October 1843. He married Clara Anne Terry in Tennessee in 1811,
she was born August 8, 1795 in South Carolina, and died in 1875 in Eugene,
Oregon. (my note they were actually married in Christian Co., KY)
From research
studying the 1800 Greenville District South Carolina Census, it was
noted that several families in this area of South Carolina also migrated
to Christian County, Kentucky. A couple of my other lines were
there in SC: Crabtree, Pyle, Davis, Ware, and Coursey as well as
some other lines that married into our lines (Hamby, Cotton, etc.).
A story passed down in the family is that John
Lindley couldn't get land as he was loyal to the crown, so he paid Hans
Black to claim stake the land
for him there in Christian County, KY.
Gwendolyn Wilkens,
(left)
granddaughter of Thomas Lindley, owner of the land in KY said she had the
Land Deed, but she died in 1996 and I have no idea what happened to her
collection of genealogy materials.
