Hello Cousins and Fellow Genealogy Addicts ~ PLEASE
READ
It is so very
wonderful to hear from you, and I really appreciate
your taking the time to contact me to discuss our
mutual lines.
As I receive so
many e-mails about genealogy, I finally decided to
set-up some ground rules for contacting me that will
save us all some time.
- Please
use common courtesy/etiquette. You may
address me as Catherine, Cat, or Mrs. Brooks,
I prefer Cat, but as long as you have a
salutation; that is fine. Also include a
signature so I know with whom I am speaking.
Having received so many e-mails in the past that
simply say "do you know anything about such and
such?", I have finally come to the decision that
I don't have the time or energy to help someone
who can not even use good manners, and I will
save my time for those who do.
- As I indicated
on my Welcome/Home page, I have several
huge files (probably at least 12 file drawers
full) on my ancestors that I have collected from
my travels around the country, the Library in
Salt Lake and the fantastic Genealogy department
here in Denver at the public library.
These files are very difficult for me to access
and unless we have a very close connection, if
you want me to dig in them you will have to wait
until I haul them out to file new material,
which happens about every 6 months or so.
I keep a running list of who is waiting for what
when I access them.
- This web site
doesn't even begin to reflect all the data I
have collected, nor all of my sources.
While I have sources for a great deal of
my research, I do not have sources for
everything by far. Please use my
data as a guideline only, and please do
NOT cite me or my web site as your source
for any information you may obtain from it.
A source refers to a book, document or photo,
etc. from where you obtained the information,
not someone else's work !
Now, with these
guidelines in mind, you may e-mail me at the address
below. I have not linked it directly to my
e-mail address because of so many spammers obtaining
it here in the past.
Most Sincerely,
Catherine Brooks |
