In April 2008, I visited Old Fort Harrodsburg, in Harrodsburg, KY.  My 5th Great Grandfather, Garrett Pendergrass, was killed and scalped right outside the fort walls on March 28, 1777, he was in his thirties, and his family watched his murder.

See much more information about Garrett and his ancestors, on my Pendergrass page.  The pioneer cemetery located on the grounds where the fort was located, is the cemetery where they buried their dead, and I noted that it was started before Garrett was killed, so I am assuming he is buried there under one of the sandstone markers.
